| Officina Corpo DANCE SPECIALIZATION COURSE 2011/2012 SESSION IN COOPERATION WITH TIVOLI UNO
Officina Corpo is a training course whose goal is to provide its participants with a dancing professional proficiency, with special focus on contemporary dance. It is an opportunity for a productive and creative exchange, a window on the cultural market of the territory and beyond.
At the completion of the course, Officina Corpo will offer an employment contract with the promoting company, as well as the possibility to include 4 of the most deserving students in the next production of MotoMimetico. The production will be presented in several Festivals in 2012. In addition, MM and Tivoli Uno will select the most deserving student among all those taking part in the initial audition, to be presented with a scholarship for free attendance to the course.
The Course is based on individual but interrelated activities and subjects. It aims to identify and develop individual skills and expertise, suitable to two specific roles and professional profiles such as dancers and choreographers.
THE SUBJECTS Contemporary dance; ballet, hip hop, contact improvisation, floor work, project work, movement optimization, theatrical body expression.
THE TEACHERS Choreographers of national and international level, with an established teaching and artistic experience.
THE INTERNSHIPS Every two months during the course, 4 internships will be offered. 4 internationally renowned choreographers will create pièces specifically for the participants. They will be presented at the end of the Course, during the final performance.
IS ADDRESSED TO Today, a dancer is an individual who, through his/her thoughts and personality, becomes a well rounded artist and contributes in all the steps of the creative process. Therefore, the dancer must be able to develop all those aspects of education that, step by step, will lay the foundations for professional growth and will make him/her competitive when the opportunity for cooperations, project and exchanges arises. Officina Corpo is addressed to new dancers who have a full training in classical, contemporary and hip hop dance and whose goal is to: widen their background; foster their artistic and creative attitude; perfect their technical and performing skills; deepen their learning process; develop their ability to guide and/or facilitate team projects; enhance their education in a professional context. Participants must be 18 or older and free from other school commitments. National and international students are allowed.
OUR LOCATION The course will be run in cooperation with Centro di Danza Classica e Contemporanea - Tivoli Uno, where it will take place. The facility offers a professional environment, suitable for the course. In this location the Associazione Culturale MotoMimetico develops its projects.
DURATION AND FEES The course will last eight months, from October 3rd, 2011 to June 2012. It consists of 5 hours a day for 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, for a total of 800 hours. Official holidays will be observed. The annual registration fee for the Course is €1,500.00 divided in monthly amounts of €187.00. Personalized payment methods can be arranged with the Administrative Office. The annual fee does not include the mandatory insurance premium for attending the course and the annual registration to Tivoli Uno. CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE The certificate of attendance will be issued only after proper attendance and upon completion of the course.
THE GOALS OF OFFICINA CORPO TO INCREASE the ability of young new-professionals in identifying the artistic and professional collaborations suitable for their technical abilities and TO DIRECT them towards a professional field. This is the main priority of the course. TO OFFER, at the end of the course, an employment contract to the four most deserving students with the possibility of continuing their artistic and professional path in other MotoMimetico projects. MM and Tivoli Uno will select the most deserving student among all those taking part in the initial audition, to be presented with a scholarship for free attendance to the course. TO PARTICIPATE in the Gala where the final projects, created during the year with our guest choreographers, will be shown. This is an important chance for the participants to measure themselves with different artistic styles and to increase their exposure. TO ENHANCE the artistic and technical versatility of the participants in order to develop awareness of their own potential in the dance field. It also wants to increase their ability in conceiving and developing projects that facilitate the promotion of the arts.
THE AUDITIONS Number of participants is limited. Selections will be made through a FREE AUDITION held by the course teachers. The audition will take place Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Centro Tivoli Uno from 11AM to 4PM. Participants must register in advance to the Stage/ Audition to be admitted. Pre-enrollemnt deadline is Wednesday, September 14, 2011.
